Did you know what chemical elements are present in biomatter?
1. Carbon, hydrogen and oxygen are essential chemical elements of carbohydrates.
2. Carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulphur by trace are essential chemical elements of proteins.
3. Phosphor, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen are essential chemical elements of DNA and RNA molecule.
4. Carbon, hydrogen and oxygen by trace are essential chemical elements of fats, lipids.
5. There are many other chemical elements in smaller or trace amounts, mostly found as minerals or in vitamins. Among these are: calcium, sodium, potassium, manganese, iodium, cobalt, iron, copper, sulphur, phosphor, selenium, zinc, Molybdenum, Fluorine, Chlorine.
6. Very rare elements: Lithium, Strontium, Aluminum, Silicon, Lead, Vanadium, Arsenic, Bromine
7. 99% of human body's weight is made up of of just six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus.
8. Human cells consist of 65-90% water by weight. Therefore, it isn't surprising that most of a human body's mass is oxygen.
